Annual President’s Letter
Dear Penn-York Lumbermen’s Club Members,
The 2024 year has come and gone. This has been one of the most challenging years our industry has experienced. I am pleased to announce that we have topped the $1,000,000 amount donated through the years to various organizations to help promote our industry either through lobbying efforts or promotions through advertising.
This past year our membership has dropped a little, either due to companies going out of business or temporarily curtailing production until our industry stabilizes. With that, we were forced this year to reduce some of our contributions. In the future, when business picks up and optimistically membership increases, we will reevaluate the donation amounts to the various organizations. Please remember that all of your dues have been donated back into the industry.
The first meeting of 2025 was hosted by Wagner Lumber in Watkins Glenn, NY on January 19, 2025. If anyone would like to be considered to serve as secretary, please contact Greg Ochs or Rob Matson. For our full meeting schedule, please visit our website www.pennyork.org.
In closing, I would like to thank all our active board members for their support and input this past year. I would also like to personally thank Jesse LaSon, our past President, for his guidance and leadership. A very special thank you to Randy Flament for the many years spent on the Board of Directors. Without leadership like this, we would not be as strong as we are today.
Wishing everyone a prosperous healthy 2025.
Sincerely,
Greg Ochs
President, Penn-York Lumbermen’s Club
